It's not just love for music...

(it's a passion)

I'll do this for the rest of my life...

(and that's not long enough!)

I hope to make music you enjoy...

(and will make you feel)

Me

Hi, I’m Kerry Neubauer, a musician, writer, and producer from San Antonio, Texas. I’d describe myself as a singer-songwriter who focuses equally on lyrics and production. To me, an insightful or emotional lyric needs the perfect music behind it to truly resonate.

I’ve been playing piano since my teens and have spent most of my life performing in cover bands, praise teams, and original groups. A few years ago, I stepped away from live music to devote myself fully to writing and recording, which is where my real passion lies. Creating original music has always fascinated me, from crafting thought-provoking lyrics and unique chord progressions to building soaring melodies and intricate arrangements.

As a lifelong music lover, I’ve always wondered about the trial and error my favorite artists went through in the studio. If only I could have been a fly on the wall during their recording sessions! Now, thanks to technology, I get to experience that creative process myself. I record, mix, and master all my music in my home studio, playing most, if not all, of the parts myself.

My goal is to make music that stirs emotions—whether it’s nostalgia, empathy, or a reflection on human relationships. Sometimes, I’ll tell stories, comment on social situations, or just try to be clever.

I’m not chasing fame or dreaming of performing in front of thousands. I simply want to create good music that makes you feel something special.

I love exploring different genres and am starting with singer-songwriter music. But I’ll also dive into country, pop, ballads, and even some blues, so stay tuned—there’s plenty more to come!

Me (in shock) and Kenny Loggins!
My favorite music artists are Chicago, Barry Manilow, Kenny Loggins, Al Jarreau, Clint Black and George Michael. These are artists who's songs I studied, not just liked. And Kenny Loggins voice and songwriting were always fascinating to me. Well, a few years ago I got to sing on an album he was making with his band Blue Sky Riders. Talk about a dream come true! I and others sang some backup vocals while he was standing right beside me. Even had pizza together after the session!

By the way, I'd love to meet the rest of my music idols, so if any of you happen to know any of these people (that are still alive), CONTACT ME!

Next First Release

So Proud

My first release is a song about my wife. I couldn't think of a better subject to write about. She's risked a lot marrying a wanna be musician 37+ years ago! And I couldn't be prouder to say she's mine!

Song drops on April 15th!

Here's a sample!

Friends

I've recorded with several local artists in the San Antonio, TX area. Here's a few that you might want to check out!
HoneyBunny: Great group of people and all excellent musicians. Led by my high school friend's son, this band plays all over Texas and beyond and has released several albums and singles.
Facing Forward: Played in a cover band with these guys for many years. When we stopped playing, we decided to record an EP of original music. Had a great time and we hope to release more music soon.
Evangel Lamb: A good friend of mine was inpsired to write melodies to scripture. We recorded over 20 songs. They found their way to a company called THEOTOTS which embedded them into Evangel Lamb!. Great gift for a baby or toddler in your life!
David Melville: Met David through a high school friend. Years before, he had written lyrics for his wife that he wanted to put to music. I helped him create this song. He's also done many other music projects. Check his work out at Change Artists.

Family

Both of my children and my brother write and record their own music. Their music is available on all streaming services. If you have a Spotify account, click the Spotify icon to open their music using your account. Or you can listen to samples of their music here.
My daughter, Shelby Neubauer moved to Nashville in 2009 to study music at Belmont University. She's been there ever since. She released several country singles and an EP with her very talented producer, Daniel Dennis.
My son, Brayden Neubauer moved to Nashville after graduating from Texas A&M in 2016. He's currently working with two fine young producers and creating a very modern sound that combines hip hop, pop and rap styles. (warning, explicit material).
My brother, Keith Neubauer has been creating music as long as I have and we started several bands together in the late 70's and 80's. He plays live several times a month in Galveston. Check him out if you're in the area. And listen here to his latest work on Spotify.
I've created the Neubauer Playlist on Spotify. It includes all of the Spotify songs my family and I have released (no explicit material). Everyone's ahead of me right now as far as numbers go, but I plan to catch up fast.
